Tumbling Tomatoes

Here are my tomatoes hanging from the rail on my plot.  I like to ring the changes and try different ideas out, and I thought growing on the flat was rather samey, so decided to sling the bag over the fence and plant a tumbling tomato on each side.  Whether it will work or not remains to be seen but it looks ok at the moment

  1. Just returned to the plot after only a week away The holiday was good but the weather spoiled it because the places worth visiting are best reached by boat and the scenery would be fantastic if you had the right weather. We were told by a gardener that the sun had shone on three days in all of June.
The plot looks ok with srawb's a plenty but the broad beans full of blackfly so out with the sprayer and at the same time spray the peas which are in full flower

  2. Blackfly! Sprayer!!!!! Eeek !!!!!

I know you were away but had you not been you would have pinched out the tops and kept the pesky blackfly at bay. Rather smug here as I did pinch out the tops on my broad beans, and incidentally they are fine in a stir fry, and so the blackfly arrived, but finding no lush tops to eat, they turned their noses up at mine and settled on yours.
