My first job of July

To make and install a raised bed, or rather my husband's first job


Here it is in all its splendour, made from roof beams from our recent loft 
conversion


Planted up with Minicole cabbages, Bolognese courgettes, calendula
 and a stray celery 


So, what to plant in the other half. I hear Algy has some swede plants to hand.

    Hi Algy! Yes I did, thanks. I only planted six and I put the rest of the tray back with the others on your raised bed. I put them in where I'd pulled some overwintering onions. Added a little sprinkling of poultry manure powder and a few slug pellets, watered them in and hoped that the rabbits would leave them alone.

    I forgot to cover them over with the usual makeshift rabbit keeper-offers so I fear the worst
